Get ready for the big cruise. We are actually going to cruise somewhere – to Humbug Cove on the far north extremes of the Lake for Cinco de Mayo. This time of year, with high water there is a whole new world up there, it is beautiful. The club in years gone by had a number of great Cinco sunflower raft ups in Humbug. We are putting out the word early to begin getting boats signed up. We need at least 15 boats to do the sunflower configuration. Bruce Andress is in charge of recruiting boats. Watch out, Bruce is after you to sign up!
The dates are Friday May 3-Sunday May 5th
. Doug and Deedy and some other early birds will be up there on Friday so those who want to raft up two nights can do so.
If we get enough boats, we are planning on bringing back some of the great Cinco traditions. piñatas, salsa and sangria contests, a progressive dinner moving from boat to boat, etc.
As you know we are in transition to Wild Apricot as the Clubs communication and Events vehicle. Please sign up and post comments here on Wild Apricot. Go to the Cinco de Mayo Forum (Forum’s are under the Member’s drop down) to post to add comments or questions. Or call Bruce or Doug who are co-cruise skippers on any raft up questions, Carolyn on the social side. Lets get ready to party!#@#_WA_-_CURSOR_-_POINT_#@#
The Education Page on our website has articles on anchoring and rafting and specifically on how to create a Sunflower Raft.
More details, maps, navigation, and itinerary will be added soon. Lets all sign up, we need to fill out that sunflower.
