Roper Lake is a small lake near Safford. Its higher elevation should give us good weather in April. Kayaking, hiking, bird watching are very good here. Try to reserve in the Hacienda Loop area.

Oracle describes itself as a quirky western town nestled among boulders, oaks and grasslands. It was a stagecoach stopover. Looks like some great places to eat. Dining Oracle. Large shopping plaza across the highway including a Walmart.
The Biosphere 2 is also a good day trip. Only 20 miles away. I recommend it!

LPSC Land Yacht Cruise to River Island /Cat Tail Cove Monday - Friday. Official dates are December 1-Dec. 5, 2025. Come early, stay later! Enjoy more!
River Island and Cat Tail Cove State Parks.
There was interest by some campers to go to Cat Tail Cove. Others wish to stay at River Island. So... You get to choose! Cat Tail Cove had a nice beach, boat ramp and nice shade trees. It's about 20 minutes north of River Island. In addition, Cat Tail Cove doesn't have the river current to content with so kayaking around the area would be easier than with the river current.
We still plan the same activities....a dinghy crawl to Pirates Den for lunch on Wednesday leaving from River Island Beach and a dinner Thursday evening in Havasu City. Place to be determined. A walk around the London Bridge area to enjoy the Christmas lights after dinner.
We are not sure if the parks will allow us to drive over and visit each other without charge... So keep that in mind.
Book early, there are many campsites still open.
